For the sake of the children

Bahini collects donations in Europe, 100% of which will go the children's home in Nepal. All administrative costs are covered by the members of Bahini themselves.

In the children’s home, we have several Nepalese employees, who take care of all operational issues ensuring a smooth daily routine. Our manager of the home, Deepak, is living together with the children in the home and takes care of the daily routine (e.g. homework, shower plan, cleaning plan), leisure activities, as well as smaller acquisitions. Under his direction the other team members fulfill their tasks: A teacher assists the children to complete their homework, plays with them and takes the children to health services - if required. Two cooks prepare delicious traditional Nepalese food, do the laundry and clean the home.

International volunteers

It is one of our goals to constantly have volunteers on-site and to include them in the daily routine of the children’s home. Their main tasks is the support and mentoring of the children. We set a special focus on improving the children’s language skills. There is a lack of qualified personnel in Nepalese schools, that is why the volunteers play a vital role in improving the children’s English skills. Having excellent English skills is one of the key qualifications for their future professional career.

However, equally important is his/her involvement in recreational activities. Each initiative and each creative idea is highly appreciated by the children and helps them to further develop their personalities.
